NEW COACH MEMBERSHIP

Are you a new coach to an EXISTING IHSA team? READ the requirements to be an IHSA coach. Please use the link below to join.

NEW TEAM MEMBERSHIP

The IHSA welcomes any accredited college or university interested in participating in the activities of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association. If you are a NEW coach looking to register a NEW IHSA team, please follow the instructions for starting an IHSA team.

NEW RIDER MEMBERSHIP

Is this your first year as an undergraduate IHSA member and are you a fulltime undergraduate student? Please use the link below to join.
*NOTE: Your team must be registered before you can join.

    • Have an IHSA coach membership and be familiar with the IHSA Rules.

    • Be at least 21 years old.

    • Pass the online IHSA Coach Rules Test and sign the IHSA liability waiver each year.

    • Carry professional liability insurance coverage for coaching activities at IHSA events, or show a college/university Certificate of Insurance, or be a College or University employee.

    • Provide proof of Safe Sport education annually.  Coaches employed by a college or university with mandatory Title IX training and testing may submit their proof of such training in lieu of Safe Sport.

    • Provide proof of concussion awareness education annually.

    • Hunter seat coaches must be current USHJA members.

    • An individual whose name appears on any suspension or banned list of Safe Sport will be ineligible to participate in IHSA-sanctioned activities.

    • Review ALL the information and steps on Starting an IHSA Team.

    • New teams must be approved by the Regional President before they can officially join IHSA. This is to ensure they are located in the correct zone and region and to minimize duplicate accounts.

    • The new team application must be filled out by either the team coach or the official school representative. When filling out the form for the first time, you will be asked to choose a username and password. This username and password will be specific to the coach of the team. The coach will use this username to gain access to specific personal information about team members, so it must not be shared with anyone other than a designated administrative assistant.

    • NOTE: You will not have access to your team account until it has been approved by the Regional President. 

    • Once the team is approved and the application submitted, print the Team Membership form. The form must be signed by the coach and an official university representative.

    • Send the form with a check from your college, university, or official club account to Cricket Morris, IHSA National Treasurer, 844 Dry Fork Road, Gladys, VA 24554. The check should be made out to IHSA Inc. in the amount of $300. (personal checks and money orders are not accepted).

    • The coach and regional president will receive an email confirmation of the team application. If you do not, please email webcommittee@ihsainc.com.
